meet krysler soriano

yorkshire's Luxury wedding videographer / Filmmaker

Hey! I’m Krysler, a luxury wedding videographer based in South Yorkshire, England. Who loves to travel and capture the special moments of a couple’s big day. I believe that weddings are a celebration of love and I take great pride in being able to document those precious moments that will be cherished for a lifetime.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me exploring new places, meeting new people, and spending time with friends. I’ve been lucky enough to visit some incredible countries such as Canada, Austria, Japan, Italy, and the Philippines, and I’m always on the lookout for my next adventure.

Ready to work together?

My journey in photography began when I was studying in college at the age of 16. Since then, I’ve been continuously learning and improving my craft through trial and error and watching YouTube videos. By the time, I was 22 I transitioned my passion of photography into filmmaking. The reason I transition, I feel in love with the cinematic storytelling of audio and visuals.  I take pride in my ability to capture cinematic shots that tell a beautiful story, and I’m always striving to perfect my technique.

In my free time, I’m an avid movie buff, and my all-time favorite film is Interstellar. The beauty of storytelling by Christopher Nolan is what drew me to the film, and I’ve been inspired by it ever since.

In all of my work, I bring a relaxed and calming presence, making sure that my couples feel comfortable and at ease. I love getting to know my clients and their unique love story, and I feel honored to be able to capture such an important moment in their lives.

young videographer when he moved to the UK

It was in 2011 when I packed my bags & moved half way across the world from the Philippines to the UK. One heck of a journey, especially for an 12 years old! Why would you move from a tropical country to this, a particularly damp part of Northern Europe? I’ll tell you why in 1 word… Opportunity.

wedding film production

Yep - that's right. Just as nearly every creative kid did back in high school, I started up my own YouTube channel. The dream? That was to become the next YouTube Gaming icon. Anyone who knows me well, will tell you that I'm partial to the odd computer game, or two. That being said, this dream didn't last very long.

It wasn't until I reach Sixth Form college that I realised what being a photographer actually meant. Up until then, I just thought photography was a natural gift & that those that were photographers just had an 'eye' for images. But how wrong I was. It was at this point I realised that photography was just like Maths or English - it could be learnt.  Composition, colours, lighting, the lot.

the drone of a wedding videographer

Being quite a techy person, the idea of piloting a drone had always appealed to me. A different way of storytelling and perspective. So much so that it wasn't long before I went out & bought one - the Mavic Pro 1 to be precise. And although it wasn't by any means the best drone out there, it was my first experience as a drone pilot. A thrill that only fuelled my love for video & camera equipment.

canon camera used by wedding videographer

As my fascination with camera gear accelerated, it wasn't long before I made the leap & invested in my first DSLR camera. The Canon 200D. In fact, it's a camera I still have it to this day and crucially, was the first camera I'd bought with the aim of achieving professional quality images. Something I was sure to make use of soon after, by documenting a trip to Vancouver. Perhaps the origins of my 'documentary' style.

a wedding videography shoot in Yorkshire

Okay (confession time) - when it comes to videography, I'm actually quite a fresh face... It wasn't until 2021 that I plucked up the courage to press record and produce my first cinematic-style video. However, looking back, I don't know why I was so afraid, as thanks to my background in photography + my 'slight' obsession with camera gear, it wasn't actually that big of a leap. So much so that whilst filming my first couple of weddings, I realised something. This is it. Cinematic wedding videography is the niche I've been looking for.

Fresh out of Lockdown & one thing became abundantly clear. You guys really dig my camerawork, and want to see SO much more than just a few reels on IG. So being the gentleman I am, I've decided to invest a lot of time (& hard earned money) into creating this website. A platform that aside from showcasing my work, is also designed to help me communicate better with you (my couples). So please do take a browse and be nosey - bookmark me if you wish. Because take my word for it, this phrase has never been more appropriate... "watch this space".

Your videography style - what is it?

If I could design my job title, I'd describe myself as a Cinematic Wedding Videographer.

That's because that while wedding videography is very much what I do, the style in which I do it is designed to mimic that of a feature film. Safe to say, I'm not the type of videographer to just catch you straight on. Storytelling and narrative play a huge part in what I do!

When you're not behind the camera, what do you do?

On the rare occasion that I'm not behind the camera, you'll probably find me doing either one of 3 things:

  • Travel the world, meet new and like-minded people
  • Watching movies and since I have the knowledge of a filmmaker. My brain analyses the storytelling and technical aspects of the film.
  • Educating myself. I actually get a real buzz from learning, so when I'm not videoing you, I'm learning how to improve my technique, better my approach, and research the latest camera gear. Basically prep work.
Your favourite part of a wedding - do you have one?

Now, my favourite part of a wedding is quite hard to track down. And I know it sounds like I'm'playing it safe' with this answer, but at the end of the day, it's the truth.

You see, with no two weddings being the same, very often these highlight moments vary depending on the couple. So if I'm videoing a tight-knit family wedding, my favourite moment will be something like the cosy feeling you get at the first dance or the warm homely vibe of the ceremony. Whereas if Mr & Mrs are quite the party animals, then the wild and wonderful celebrations of the evening doo are likely to be the top of my highlight list.

We couldn’t recommend Krysler enough. From the initial consultation on video to meeting on the day everything was seamless. He was extremely professional and very knowledgeable in his field. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone and wish him every success with his future career.

Amazing. We met previously a couple of times. One was to go through the venue, type of photos. Second was to go to the venue and have a look around to discuss where to take photographs. Krysler was very open to ideas and both Lewis and I felt comfortable around him and let him do his own thing! 100% recommend
